SWE GGS Professional Development Summit
The first annual SWE Professional Development Summit successfully hosted 21 Bay Area engineers to update headshots, learn about building a brand in their career and with their team, all about the research in AI in public use cases, and trusting their voice with improv session. The attendees all left with a new connection and lots of insights about SWE and interest in attending future events.
SWE GGS X AWWEE: East Bay Municipal Utility District Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour
At the end of June, SWE GGS partnered with the Association of Women in Water, Energy, and Environment (AWWEE) to take a tour of the East Bay Municipal Utilities District (EBMUD) Waste Water Treatment Plant in Oakland! Led by three female engineers who work at the plant, our group learned about the entire process that takes place to filter, treat, and clean the water coming into the plant before it is discharged in the San Francisco Bay. Our group had so many insightful questions, we went over our tour time by at least 30 minutes! We look forward to partnering with AWWEE again in the future to plan more fun and educational tours like this one!
Coffee with SWE GGS
Some SWE GGS members met up for coffee and toast at The Mill on Divisadero St in SF recently. It was great to meet catch up with people we hadn’t seen in a while and meet students from the University of San Francisco (USF) who just started their own affiliate SWE group at their school!
SWE GGS 50th Anniversary Party
In March, SWE Golden Gate celebrated our 50th anniversary with a 1920’s themed party at a speakeasy in San Francisco! It was wonderful to connect with members both old and new and raise a glass to all that SWE GGS has accomplished over 5 decades! We had so much fun planning this event and want to give a big shoutout to those that were on the planning committee for this momentous event! We look forward to more SWE GGS success over the next 10 years :)
