Policy Powerpoint Social

Is your job related to public policy? Join us for Policy Powerpoint Social on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 2:00-3:30pm!

Each attendee will present 1 slide (formal or informal). For example, a civil engineer can present how their work influences policies on clean water or FEMA guidelines to prepare for natural disasters.

Join at 2:00 to make your slide during the event! If it’s already created, feel free to drop in at 2:30 when we start the “presentations”. There will be bonus points for best memes or drawings on your slide! We will have snacks and the group’s favorite presenter will win a prize!

Hike with SWE GGS!

Join us for a relaxing 2-mile loop hike through the beautiful redwoods at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park! Starting from the Skyline Gate, we’ll stroll along the East Ridge and Phillips Loop trails. We will meet at Skyline Gate Staging Area. Bring water, comfy shoes, and your best hiking snack!

Brews & Books

Join us for a cozy afternoon of good books, great conversation, and even better coffee!  We’ll be reading Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata—a quirky and thought-provoking story about finding your own path in a world that expects conformity. SWE GGS Port Harbor Tour

Get ready for a special opportunity to learn about the Port of Oakland maritime operations and explore the San Francisco Bay by water! 🌉 SWE Golden Gate has secured 30 FREE tickets to one of the Port’s 90-minute harbor cruises.

Mark your calendars! This cruise tour is on Friday, August 8th, from 6:45 PM to 8:15 PM. Boarding will take place at the Oakland Jack London Terminal (Ferry Dock) at 10 Clay St.
